Happy 100th Birthday, Morningside State School!
This year, Morningside State School celebrates an incredible milestone – 100 years at the heart of the local community.
The school officially opened on 16 August 1926. From its beginnings with a single weatherboard building, Morningside State School has grown alongside the community. Today, its grounds include eleven buildings, tennis courts, an oval and, of course, the much-loved swimming pool.🏊♀️
A pool built with community spirit 💙
The school’s history tells us that the swimming pool was dug by parents in the 1950s—a wonderful example of the community spirit that continues to make Morningside State School so special.
More than 60 years later, the pool remains an important part of school and community life.
Hampton Swim School feels very lucky to teach children to swim at the Morningside State School pool, helping new generations build confidence, learn lifelong water-safety skills and create their own happy memories within these historic school grounds.
