👋 01 | Getting Started at Hampton
How do I book a free trial?
Visit our free-trial page and follow the prompts. If you’re unsure which level to choose, our team can help.
How do I enrol in a class?
Head to our online enrolment form here. Or you’re welcome to phone our Enrolments Team on (07) 3399 2004 or email enrol@hamptonswimschool.com.au to discuss available classes. New swimmers are welcome to try a class before ongoing enrolment.
How do I know which swimming level is right for my child?
Every swimmer develops at their own pace. Explore our swimming levels guide, or contact our team for help choosing the right starting point.
Can my child start lessons if they have never swum before?
Absolutely! We welcome beginners and help them build confidence in the water at their own pace. We’ll recommend a level based on age, experience and ability.
Can I join Hampton at any time during the year?
Yes, you can enquire throughout the year. Availability depends on your preferred location, level and lesson time. Start with our free-trial page.
Where are your swimming pools?
We teach at St Oliver Plunkett Catholic Primary School, 51 Stanton Street, Cannon Hill, and Morningside State School, 67 Pashen Street, Morningside.
What should my child bring to swimming lessons?

🏊 02 | Lessons & Swimming Levels
What swimming levels does Hampton offer?
Our learning pathway includes BabySteps, SwimSteps, StrokeSteps and Team Accelerate, with Starfish for our youngest babies. See our swimming levels guide for the full breakdown.
How will I know when my child is ready for the next level?
Our teachers monitor each swimmer’s skills and progress during lessons. You can also follow your child’s progress through the iClass app. Our team will guide you when they are ready for the next level.
Can my child change levels if their current class isn’t the right fit?
Yes. Speak to our poolside service team or call (07) 3399 2004. We can review your child’s needs and discuss suitable options, subject to availability.
How long does it take to learn to swim?
There is no set timeline. Children progress at different rates depending on their age, experience, confidence and regular practice. Consistent lessons help them build skills over time.
How long do your programs run for?
Our teaching program uses four-week learning blocks within a 12-week cycle. Enrolments are ongoing rather than limited to one term.
What qualifications do your teachers hold?
Our SwimSteps teachers hold a Teacher of Water Safety qualification, and BabySteps teachers hold a Teacher of Infants and Toddlers qualification. Many of our instructors hold both.

📅 04 | Bookings, Absences & Make-Up Lessons
How do I use the Customer Portal or iClass Pro app?
You can use the Customer Portal or iClass Pro app to manage your enrolment, notify absences and book make-up lessons. See the iClass How To Guides or ask our team at the pool for help.
How do I change my lesson day or time?
You can request a class change through the iClass app. Changes depend on available places in a suitable class.
How do I notify Hampton that my child will be absent?
Log into iClass Pro app (handy tips and links here), go to your child’s classes and submit the absence before the scheduled lesson begins.
Am I charged if my child misses a lesson?
Yes. Your regular payment secures your swimmer’s ongoing place. If you notify us before the lesson, an eligible paid absence can generate a make-up token.
How do I book a make-up lesson?
Use the iClass Pro app (handy tips and link here). Make-up tokens are valid for three months, can be booked up to eight days in advance and are subject to class availability and a suitable swimming level.
Can I use a make-up token after leaving Hampton?
No. Make-up lessons are available to actively enrolled customers only, even if a token has not yet expired.
Can I transfer a make-up token or make up a missed make-up lesson?
No. Make-up tokens cannot be transferred to another swimmer, exchanged for credits or refunds, or reissued if a make-up lesson is missed.
What if we are going away for two or more consecutive lessons?
For an eligible planned absence of two or more consecutive lessons, you can request a 50% hold. Email support@hamptonswimschool.com.au in advance with your dates. The adjustment is applied to a subsequent invoice; make-up tokens are not issued for lessons covered by the hold.
Do lessons run during school holidays?
Yes. Our regular lessons continue during school holidays, except for public holidays and our Christmas closure period (usually around two weeks).
Are lessons held on public holidays?
No. Our venues are closed on public holidays, and those lessons are not charged. Your invoice is adjusted automatically.
💳 05 | Invoicing, Payments & Discounts
Why do my invoices differ in price?
We invoice by complete Monday-to-Sunday billing weeks, rather than calendar months. A billing period may contain three, four or five weeks, and public holidays are deducted. The billing-period dates appear at the bottom of your invoice.
When are invoices issued and payments debited?
Your proforma invoice is emailed on the 25th of each month. Direct debit is generally processed on the 28th (or the nearest business processing date) for the next billing period.
Why are some classes priced differently?
Prices reflect lesson type and swimmer-to-teacher ratios. Current supplied rates are: BabySteps $27.50; SwimSteps (1:4) $29.50; StrokeSteps (1:5 Stingray/Marlin or 1:6 Dolphin/Hammerhead) $27.50; Team Accelerate Red/White one lesson weekly $24.00; Team Accelerate two or more weekly sessions, including Silver and Black, $38.50 per week; 15-minute private $46.00; 30-minute semi-private $46.00 per child (two children required); and 30-minute private $92.00. Private lessons do not include make-ups. Please confirm current pricing with our team before booking.
Why can’t I pay for lessons one at a time?
Our classes operate on continuous enrolment. Your swimmer keeps their regular place and teacher while the class continues and remains suitable. Lessons are billed in advance rather than paid for individually.
Why do I need a direct debit account?
We use an external payment provider to manage recurring payments securely and efficiently. You will be asked to set up your payment details when enrolling. Please contact our accounts team if you need help.
What happens if my direct debit fails?
Please keep your card or bank details up to date and ensure sufficient funds are available. A declined payment currently incurs a $5.50 dishonour fee, according to the supplied invoicing policy.
What discounts do you offer?
A 25% discount applies to a third or subsequent child (on the lower-priced enrolment). For non-squad swimmers, a second weekly lesson is discounted by 50%. Team Accelerate Red/White is $24.00 for one weekly lesson or $38.50 per week for two or more; Silver/Black is $38.50 per week for their applicable multiple-session program. Seasonal promotions, when available, are advertised separately.
Why does my invoice show a different number of weeks?
Some billing periods include three, four or five full Monday-to-Sunday weeks. Check the dates at the bottom of your invoice against a calendar. Public holidays are not charged.
🔄 06 | Changing or Cancelling Lessons
Does my enrolment continue automatically?
Yes. Hampton operates year-round, continuous enrolment. Your regular class place continues unless you request a change or cancellation, or the class is no longer operating or suitable for your swimmer.
How do I stop or cancel swimming lessons?
Submit your drop or cancellation request via your iClass app by the 25th of the month for it to take effect at the end of the current billing period. Your final lesson date will match the period shown on your latest invoice.
Do you offer refunds or credits?
We generally do not offer refunds for unused lessons. Credits may be considered at our discretion for serious illness, hospitalisation, broken limbs or other major incidents requiring at least three consecutive weeks away. Requests must be made in writing to support@hamptonswimschool.com.au within the month of the missed lessons. Approved credits are valid for six months.
Can I pause lessons without losing my place?
For planned absences of two or more consecutive lessons, you may be eligible for a 50% hold. Email support@hamptonswimschool.com.au in advance to request this option.
