Legacy on the Water Club – recognising our team
At Hampton Swim School, we spend our days celebrating milestones — first kicks, first breaths, first laps. But recently, we paused to celebrate something just as important: the people who make all of those moments possible.
We gathered for the very first Legacy on the Water Club lunch – recognising team members who have dedicated five years or more to Hampton Swim School.
In an industry where things move quickly and faces constantly change, longevity matters. These are the people who have shown up year after year, helping shape not only strong swimmers, but the culture and community that makes Hampton Swim School what it is today.
Founder Julia Ham shared a heartfelt message with the team during the celebration: “You didn’t just work here. You helped build the current that carries everyone else forward.”
Across the room sat more than 120 years of combined Hampton Swim School experience — an incredible reflection of commitment, consistency and care.
These team members have taught thousands of swimmers, supported countless families, mentored younger staff and helped create the welcoming environment our community knows and loves today.
We are incredibly proud to recognise our inaugural Legacy on the Water Club members:
- Bec Chippendale – 12 years
- Matt Hay – 7 years
- Tegan Humphries – 7 years
- Crystal Skennar – 12 years
- Jason Shepherd – 9 years
- Kate Jensen – 5 years
- Michelle McKerrow – 12 years
- Jen Sadler – 12 years
- Charles Wan – 5 years
- Shay Thomas – 8 years

- Julia Ham – 27 years
To each of you – thank you.
Thank you for the early mornings, the energy, the encouragement, the standards you uphold and the impact you continue to have on every swimmer who walks through our doors.
Your legacy is felt in every lane.
