TA Focus for the month
Silver Squad – This final block will focus on awareness of stroke over a set distance. This will enable the swimmer to be consistent about the effectiveness of their stroke, what is the expectation for that particular stroke, and it’ll give tangible and empirical benchmark regarding their stroke.
Fr- We introduce a variation on their freestyle stroke to help understand and put together everything they have learnt thus far and provide them with the opportunity to feel what stroke expectations are for their stroke by counting their strokes.
Bk- For their Bk we reinforce the importance of body rotation and timing and explore stroke count expectations.
Br- We challenge the swimmer to improve their kicks and provide an opportunity to grasp stroke expectations.
Bf- The final block of skills challenges the swimmer to build strength and endurance for their Butterfly, and explore stroke counts and expectations.
Black Squad– The final block challenges the swimmer to test their skills and fitness to see how well they can perform with long distance swims for different strokes as well as IM swims.
Fr- We revise starts, strength and fitness and apply it into a long-distance swim without assistance.
Bk- Skills being revised include the importance of head position, and different inputs for propulsion for a more stable and efficient backstroke.
Br-Stroke count expectations, challenges to the different methods of propulsion, and body positioning are what the swimmer can expect to encounter in this Block.
Bf- Minor tweaking of the stroke will be explored for a Butterfly stroke covering greater distances.
