TA Focus for the month

The following weeks we will be moving onto the next block of skills. We are still focusing on attaining and maintaining our core body structure and position, and we are scaffolding our arms into our strokes whilst maintaining a good core body position.

White Squad: –

Butterfly- We start to incorporate hip undulation into our butterfly stroke timing with our dolphin dives and kick dives, helping you to develop a more efficient stroke.

Backstroke- We strengthen our core, our body, and our arms for a faster and better backstroke

Freestyle- Revisit and reinforce the importance why streamline position is key for a fast stroke

Breaststroke- We condition our streamlined breaststroke kick for an easier and faster glide

Silver Squad:-

Butterfly- We reinforce the coordination for a good butterfly rhythm with a series progression to help develop the timing

Breaststroke- We strengthen both the arms and the kicking part of the stroke, whilst reinforcing the importance of a streamlined kick phase of the stroke

Freestyle- We introduce drills to help with core development as well as developing better lung capacity in this block of freestyle skills

Backstroke- We strengthen our core as well as our legs in this series of drills, with a mindset of attaining a better backstroke swim

Black Squad:-

Butterfly- We examine and feel the importance of a good catch within our stroke and incorporating in line with the timing to further develop our stroke over a longer distance
